Companies, especially small to medium enterprises, need to focus their resources on their core business functions and operations to grow and compete with large corporations. But in order to scale and grow their business needs to have a functional back office. However, business owners are faced with the challenge of rising operational costs and limited resources. This is the part where most of the businesses seek an outsourcing partner.
Hiring a virtual assistant or a full virtual team for your back-office is not a new practice. A lot of businesses even large corporations are utilizing outsourcing solutions for the business functions. Despite its popularity, outsourcing and Virtual Assistants are still a mystery to many. In this article, we asked the Founder of Koruna Assist, Petra Novakova to sit down with us and answer our clients frequently asked questions.
Who is Petra Novakova?
Hi, everyone, for the ones who don’t know me, my name is Petra, and I’m the owner and founder of Koruna Assist.
What is Koruna Assist?
Koruna Assist is an outsourcing company specializing in helping small to medium business owners remove the bottlenecks in their business by optimizing their back-office workflow. We do this by offloading low-value task so, they can spend more time doing what they do best.
We help SMEs identify the most time-consuming tasks that are getting in the way and help them outsource and commoditize this to our team Koruna experts.
Virtual Assistant FAQ #1: What is a virtual assistant?
A virtual assistant is the same asset to your business as anyone else in a business. The only difference is that they are sitting in a different location and mostly like in a different country. One of the reasons for it to be a different country is it’s a lot more cost-efficient. And that’s why most of the outsourcing businesses are based in the Philippines and India.
Virtual Assistant FAQ #2: What a virtual assistant can do for you?
At Koruna Assist, we position our clients in as an expert and understand what are the things that require their expertise. We identify the tasks that are the low-value tasks that are not really adding value to your business as such. Once, we’ve identified them we will outsource it to a virtual assistant or we can build a process around it then, get a virtual system to do it for you. That way you can spend more time to focus on what you enjoy.
Virtual Assistant FAQ #3: How to identify your low-value and high-value tasks?
“Image if you could only work two hours a week, what are the things that you do?”
By answering the question, you can identify which are your high-value task and low-value tasks in your business. It’s important to take the time to identify the low-value task you are wasting your time on. For high-value tasks, they are an important factor in your business that you need to do yourself. On the other hand, your business low-value tasks can be outsourced to someone else. By doing this, you can spend more time adding value to your business and eventually, scale.
A lot of business owners believe that if they’re doing it by themselves, they are saving money. But the reality is it doesn’t work that way. Your business should pay you a certain wage as a business owner without you doing all the work.
Virtual Assistant FAQ #4: How do I know I need a Virtual Assistant?
For example, if you’re getting 150k a year in wage and the business pays you 75 bucks an hour to do anything in the business, would you hire someone to do it for the same price? Most likely you wouldn’t. It’s more about changing the mindset rather than understanding what are the things that you do in a business and what someone else can do for you.
At Koruna Assist, we make our clients understand that all the parts of the business have to be in balance. The best way to do so is to identify where the biggest gaps in certain field of the business. You need to ask yourself these questions; do I need more time to do it? Is it me? Who has to do it? And then if so, then what are the things that I’m doing someone else can help me with and free up my time? Or the other question is, can someone else do it for me and fill these gaps.
And that’s the end of our interview. We hope that you have given you some useful insights about outsourcing.
